Van der Dussen Career, and he is a South African international cricketer who plays as a right-handed batsman. He is a member of the South Africa national team and plays domestic cricket for Gauteng.

Van der Dussen was born in Pretoria, South Africa, and made his first-class debut for Gauteng in 2007. He quickly established himself as one of the most promising young batsmen in South Africa, and was named in the South Africa A team in 2015. Van der Dussen made his international debut for South Africa team in October 2018, in a T20I match against Zimbabwe. He made his ODI debut the following month, against Pakistan.

Van der Dussen has been a regular member of the South Africa ODI team since his debut, and has established himself as one of the leading batsmen in the world in the format. He is a technically sound batsman who is particularly good against spin bowling. Van der Dussen has also played in a handful of Test matches for South Africa, but has not yet established himself in the team. As of August 2023, Van der Dussen has played 34 ODIs, scoring 1,674 runs at an average of 69.75. He has scored 4 centuries and 15 half-centuries in ODIs. In T20Is, Van der Dussen has played 32 matches, scoring 989 runs at an average of 30.84 in his cricket career. He has scored 2 half-centuries in T20Is. Van der Dussen is a key member of the South Africa team and is expected to play a major role in the team’s future.

Injury

Van der Dussen was ruled out of the 2023 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia due to a fractured left index finger. He sustained the injury during the second Test against England in July 2023.
