Nasum was born on December 5, 1994, in Sylhet, Bangladesh. He made his first-class debut for Sylhet Division in 2013. He played for the Bangladesh Under-19 team in the 2014 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. In November 2019, Nasum was selected to play for the Chattogram Challengers in the 2019–20 Bangladesh Premier League. He took 10 wickets in 7 matches, including a hat-trick against the Rangpur Riders. In March 2020, Nasum was named in Bangladesh Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against Zimbabwe. He made his T20I debut on March 18, 2020, against Zimbabwe. He took 2 wickets in the match.

In January 2021, Nasum was one of four uncapped players to be named in a preliminary squad for the One Day International (ODI) series against the West Indies. He was not selected for the final squad, but he was named in Bangladesh squad for their series against New Zealand. Nasum made his ODI debut on March 28, 2021, against New Zealand. He took 1 wicket in the match. He has since played 7 ODIs, taking 10 wickets. Nasum is a left-arm orthodox spinner.
