Dawid Malan Family, he was born in Roehampton, London, England, to South African parents. His father, Dawid Malan Sr., was a right-handed batter and right-arm fast-medium bowler who played cricket for Western Province B, Northern Transvaal B, and Teddington.
His brother, Charl Malan, also played first-class cricket for Loughborough MCCU. His sister, Liné, was an international field hockey player for South Africa. Dawid Malan moved to South Africa with his family when he was seven years old. He attended Paarl Boys’ High School, where he was a star cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Boland in 2005-06, and he quickly established himself as one of the most promising batsmen in South Africa.
In 2012, Malan moved to England to play county cricket for Middlesex.
